Leading up to the November 2012 elections, the ELPC Action Fund engaged in an advertising campaign to promote a ballot initiative that would secure a Renewable Portfolio Standard in Michigan. Due to a late start in a battle-ground state, there weren’t a lot of openings for advertisements, so the strategy became running advertisements in college campus newspapers — featuring professors’ endorsements. We ran the ads at Michigan State, University of Michigan, Wayne State, Western Michigan, and Grand Valley State. While the specs and list of profs changed, the design was the same. Here is a sample.
